There has been an increased adoption in India and the market is expected to grow at 41% CAGR by 2020. The major share of the adoption is from the Industrial IoT (IIOT) segment, while that for the consumer IoT (CIoT) segment is slow as the awareness among the consumers is gaining momentum gradually.

Manufacturing and Smart cities / public utilities are the sectors investing heavily in IIoT. Healthcare and Agriculture are two big sectors where IoT can really be the catalyst for change especially rural healthcare. Logistics, Automotive and Retail are the other segments where IIoT is being deployed to improve the operational efficiency.

Internet enabled TV are the most used CIoT device followed by smartwatches and health / fitness bands. These wearables also have the highest intention to purchase and are seeing immediate adoption among consumers.
